NBCUniversal will continue its partnership with Macy’s for 10 more years. NBC has been the home for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and many other traditional events.

NBC and Macys are the perfect marriage. It’s hard to imagine watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on any network besides NBC. The same thing applies to the 4th of July Fireworks.

For many Americans, it’s a tradition to turn on the TV on Thanksgiving day to watch the parade. However, it’s a different feeling on the 4th of July because many people are traveling or grilling BBQs with their families.

Still, those who don’t do anything spontaneous for the 4th of July stay home to watch the live performances and fireworks.

2024 was a big year for NBC’s hosting of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The network saw improvements in viewership compared to 2023. About 31.7 million people watched the event on NBC and Peacock platforms, 11 percent higher than in 2023.

Those numbers motivated NBc to continue being loyal to Macy’s and, hopefully, enjoy more success over the next ten years.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1924 and has been televised nationally on NBC since 1953. The next parade will be on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

The 4th of July fireworks have been televised on NBC since 2000. Before NBC, the event occurred at WPIX on Channel 11.
