Josh Berry earned his first NASCAR Cup Series win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s his 53rd career start.

It was a terrific moment for the 34-year-old driver out of Tennessee; his celebration said it all. Berry’s celebration of the win with his team and family was beautiful to watch.

Berry led the final 16 laps of the race. It’s a historic win for Berry and his team, Wood Brothers Racing, who won their 101st cup race.

Wood Brothers Racing was formed in 1950 by five brothers – Ray Lee, Clay, Delano, Glen, and Leonard Wood.

Daniel Suarez finished second in the race. Ryan Preece finished third. Chevrolet teammates William Bryon and Ross Chastain finished fourth and fifth. Three Chevrolet drivers finished in the Top 5. Berry and Oreece were driving the Ford cars.

Christopher Bell, who won the last three weeks, finished 12th in the race.

Jimmie Johnson, one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history, a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, and a Hall of Famer, took to social media to write a heartfelt message to Berry and Wood Brothers Racing.

“What a memorable day for the sport of NASCAR and our fans,” Johnson said. “We witnessed a racer live the dream and collect his first W in the big show. Well done, Josh Berry! Couple that with the history of the Wood Brothers while celebrating their 75th year in the sport. There’s only one thing left to do. Let’s raise a glass!”
