João Fonseca and Taylor Fritz will be competing against each other in the second round of the Lexus Eastbourne Open on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Fonseca, ranked No. 57 in the world, scored a comeback victory over Zizou Bergs and secured his first tour-level grass-court win 6-7(8), 6-0, 6-3.

Fritz, 27, is entering the tournament as the top seed. He is also the defending champion after beating Alexander Zverev in the Stuttgart final. It’s been an up-and-down season for Fritz, but the victory over Zverev could start shifting the momentum his way.

There’s a nine-year gap between Fonseca and Fritz. Both are outstanding Tennis players. Fonseca has a bright future in the sport. Fritz might have the upper hand in this match because of experience and length.

This matchup is intriguing because both men have never played against each other on tour. Both men will be entering this matchup with a lot of confidence. We could be seeing a show put on display.

Will Fritz’s experience dominate the match, or will Fonseca shock everyone and continue to write his historic run in his young career?
