NHL Highlights: Red Wings Overcome Maple Leafs 6-3

By Miguel Mike Medina

The Detroit Red Wings picked up a massive come-from-behind win against the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 on Saturday.

At first, it didn’t look pretty. The Maple Leafs jumped out to an early lead with two goals, making it 2-0, but then the Red Wings scored three unanswered goals in the second period.

The Maple Leafs would respond to tie the game 3-3, but in the third period, the Red Wings finished the game by scoring three more goals.

Veteran Patrick Kane had two points in the game. Kane joins an elite list of great players, such as Brett Hull and Mike Modano, for the most multipoint games by an American.

Alex DeBrincat picked up three assists. Goaltender Cam Talbot made 20 stops on the night. Lucas Taymond was one of the top players in the game, having scored two goals. What made it even better is that one of the goals marked his 100th goal in his NHL career.

This was an excellent victory for Detroit and a collapse loss for Toronto. However, these two teams will meet again on Monday, but this time in Toronto. The Maple Leafs are looking to settle the score. If you’re in Detroit, you must be prepared for this kind of battle.
