Tyson spoke with the media after the game and credited the people who uplifted his confidence and constantly reminded him to perform better.
“My teammates, my coaches, and just people in my circle,” Tyson said. “It’s a lot on my brother and my dad just because they’ve been through this process with me my whole life, but they do a great job of keeping my confidence up but also letting me know that it’s up to me to get better every day.”
Tyson has had some trials and tribulations this season for the Tar Heels. He told the media that he never regretted or second-guessed his decision to commit to the Tar Heels program.
“When I decided to come here, I was all in, and I’m still all in,” Tyson said. “I did. I was slightly frustrated, but my people in my circle and my teammates and coaches reiterate to me that control is controllable; that’s what I’m just trying to focus on doing every day.”
The Tar Heels’ offense played outstandingly against La Salle, a team with excellent spacing, movement, and recognition.
It’s the Tar Heels’ best offensive performance in terms of approach and execution since the American game about three weeks ago.
The Tar Heels shot 58 percent in the second half. They lead the series with La Salle 3-1. They last met in 1988.
