UNC Tar Heels Men’s Basketball defeated Campbell 97-81 in Chapel Hill on Sunday.

Freshman Ian Jackson had a career-high with 26 points and five rebounds and shot 9 of 16 from the field.

In the last game, Jackson scored 24 points in Madison Square Garden. He’s shooting the ball with so much confidence.

RJ Davis reached a new milestone. He became the all-time leader in making the most threes in the history of the Tar Heels program.

This season, Davis, a streaky three-point shooter, set the tone against Campbell. He made 5 of 10 threes. He finished the game with 23 points.

Elliot Cadeau also performed well, recording a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists. He shot 6 of 11 from the field in 34 minutes.

Drake Powell added 12 points, including going 4 of 5 from the field and 2 of 3 from the three-point line in 30 minutes of action. Jalen Washington added 10 points and 5 rebounds.

The Tar Heels are not good defensively. They’re still struggling to score points in the paint and defend the rim. More work needs to be done, and the thorns need to be cleaned up, but we are seeing some progress, especially from Davis.

Jackson needs more playing time, and the coaches must continue throwing him into the fire. They must stick with anything that works for the team.

The Tar Heels improved to 8-5 this season. They won’t play until New Year’s Day, when they take on Louisville (8-5) on the road at 6 pm EST.
