The Golden Globes will add a new category beginning in 2026 – Best Podcast.
It’s the third Globes category to be added following their latest additions: Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures and Best Stand-up Comedian.
Podcasting is one of the best media outlets in the world today. Many podcasters are using these platforms to tell a story, and podcasting has a strong voice.
The nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes will take place in December. Nicki Glaser, who hosted last year’s Golden Globes, will return to host the award ceremony.
The Netflix hit drama series Squid Game reached 27 million viewers for the second season’s premiere.
Squid Game ranks first in the top 20 series across all 2024-25 TV season platforms. The second season premiered in late December, making it one of the most current shows on Netflix.
Fans were dreading season two after an impeccable acting and writing performance from season one.
The series Adolescences, another Netflix original, is number two on the list, right behind Swuid Game. Adolescence reached 19 million viewers.
Actors Adam Sandler and George Clooney will be headlining in a new Netflix feature film, Jay Kelly.
Noah Baumbach will direct the film. It will be released in theaters on November 14 and will stream on Netflix on December 5. Baumbach co-wrote the script with actor Emily Mortimer, who is also in the cast.
The cast of Jay Kelly is astonishing, with additions such as Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig, and Billy Crudup.
Baumbach and Netflix seem to enjoy working together. This is their fourth project, following White Noise, Marriage Story, and The Meyerowitz Stories.
