No. 7 Novak Djokovic defeats No. 4 Taylor Fritz (6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4) in the Quarterfinal to move on to the Semifinal round of the 2025 US Open.

The 38-year-old Novak played terrific. He made significant adjustments in his match against Fritz, who is as good as he is, but made errors in some of the match’s critical moments.

Fritz still has a chance to get to the next level as a Tennis player. He must continue to work on his game, improve his serving, and make proper progress when he’s on the baseline.

“From the third set, I served better than the first and second,” Fritz said. “I don’t think I played much better in the first than in the second set. I have to be honest, the first three sets weren’t great. I think the level in the fourth set was probably the best level I played. He played a lot better in the fourth set as well.”

Novak sets his spots well. His serve was astonishing, and he attacked Fritz brilliantly. His forehand game was pretty, and there’s a reason why he’s one of the greatest in this sport. For his age, he showed tremendous aggression and made fewer mistakes than Fritz.

“I think in the important moments in the fourth, I served well, mixed it up, and it came to the net as well,” Djokovic said. “I just had one game where I just had a chance to break him, which was the last one.”

Djokovic is going to take it one day at a time. He’s battled through variety of injuries. His primary focus is to continue to take care of his body. He will do everything he can to relax and recover for a few days because the task won’t get easier.

Djokovic will face opponent in No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in their first U.S. Open meeting. Their match for the semifinals will be on Friday at Arthur Ashe Stadium. It’s Djokovic’s 53rd career grand slam semifinal.
