Terence Crawford defeats Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to become to undisputed Super Middleweight world champion at Allegiant Stadium.

The 37-year-old secured the biggest win of his boxing career by beating arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Crawford improved his record to 42-0, 31 KOs.

Crawford is the first male boxer to win the undisputed title in three divisions during the four-belt era. What an accomplishment.

The Alvarez-Crawford fight was streamed on Netflix and generated a lot of excitement through marketing and fans tuning in. The final four rounds made this fight compelling. The judges scored it 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113.

Crawford started to gain a lot of momentum in Rounds 9 and 10. He was sharp and in control of the fight in those rounds. Alvarez hung in there. Both men put up a fight, but Crawford’s performance was more mesmerizing and breathtaking.

Crawford looked impeccable in the ring for his age. We didn’t even see this kind of sharper mess with Manny Pacquiao and other fighters at this stage of their careers. It’s rare to see a boxer in their late 30s perform the way Crawford performed.

If this is Crawford’s last fight, then it’s one heck of a way to go out. Although we don’t think he will retire anytime soon, with this accomplishment and where he is in his career, he has nothing left to prove. His legacy is cemented with the win over Alvarez.
