The England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will face off in a Super Bowl rematch on Sunday, February 8th, in Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara.

The Patriots defeated the Denver Broncos 10-7 in a tough defensive battle as snow fell on the field. The wind and weather conditions overall played a factor in the fourth quarter. Head coach Mike Vrabel, who won the Super Bowl as a player with the Patriots, will now take the team to the Super Bowl in his first year as coach.

Drake Maye, in his only second season in the NFL, is heading to Santa Clara. No one would’ve thought at the start of the season that Maye and Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold would head to the Super Bowl before Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

The Seahawks defeated their rival, the Los Angeles Rams, 31-27 in a very hard-fought game. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams played their tails off in this NFC Championship game.

As for Darnold, he came through when it mattered most in Seattle’s NFC title win. Darnold threw for 346 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no turnovers. He has resurrected his career and silenced all the critics. Every team that traded him away, Darnold responded by saying, “Take That!”

It took Darnold five different teams to get to this point. He’s the first quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft to reach the Super Bowl, and he’s also the first USC Trojan starting quarterback to get there.

Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the 5th player with 10 receptions, 150 receiving yards, and a touchdown in a conference championship game

He joins Julio Jones (2012 Falcons), Pierre Garcon (2009 Colts), Ike Hilliard (2000 Giants), and Michael Irvin (1994 Cowboys).

Seahawks general manager John Schneider has done an incredible job putting this team together. The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the league. Schneider is the first general manager in NFL history to reach multiple Super Bowls with the same organization, while having a new head coach and no players from the previous Super Bowl team.

Tom Brady and Russell Wilson were the quarterbacks when the Patriots and Seahawks played in the Super Bowl in 2014. The Patriots won that game after a controversial play call led to Malcolm Butler’s interception.
