Edmonton Oilers’ Evan Bouchard, Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl each had three points for the team in a 5-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators to close out the three-game Eastern road trip.
The Oilers improve to 10-8-2 in the season.
Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner made 27 saves on 29 shots against the Senators. Skinner was sensational tonight.
After the spoke, Skinner spoke about his mindset for every game.
“Just trying to make progress every single day, every single game,” Skinner said.

Skinner also praised the team’s collective effort in their win over the Senators.
“Being able to get off to a good start in the first period was a big help, especially going into a back-to-back,” Skinner said. “Being able to keep that lead was really key to winning the game.”

While Skinner credited his team, coach Kris Knoblauch had his own thoughts on the goalie’s performance against the Senators.
“It always looks like you defended much better when your goalie makes huge saves,” Knoblauch said. “Skinner, I thought, was really the difference. I thought he played an outstanding game tonight.”
Bouchard’s impact in this game didn’t go unnoticed, especially in the eyes of the captain. Bouchard set the tone with the team’s first goal of the season and finished with three points.
“Bouch is a great player,” McDavid said. “So patient with it, never in a rush, you can see both those things on that goal. Beautiful move & a beautiful finish.”

Fun Fact: Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each had three points in the same game for the 43rd time in their career. McDavid has 13 goals and 32 assists in 25 career games against the Senators.
The Oilers will play against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday at home at 9pm.
