Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)
Kickstart your Thanksgiving weekend by watching one of the best Thanksgiving movies ever made. It is a movie with brilliant comedic timing by Steve Martin and John Candy. They work so well together in this picture. John Hughes was an exceptional writer. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles have some melancholy scenes, especially in Act Three, and Steve Martin’s character development throughout the movie is phenomenal. The movie’s ending is touching and heartfelt and brings a smile. If you have experienced heavy traffic, lousy weather, and annoying passengers while traveling, you want to check out this movie.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
When we talk about Thanksgiving, there’s no way you can miss about Charlie Brown. Any story about Charlie Brown can connect with any generation, and every generation will learn about Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving. This one is a classic that you must watch. It’s Turkey Day for the Peanuts gang, and Snoopy is ready to start cooking.
Don’t miss this classic 1973 movie. It’s only 26 minutes long and available on Apple TV Plus.
Martin TV Show – Feast or Famine (Season 3, Ep. 11)
This is one of the most underrated Thanksgiving sitcom episodes. It’s hilarious, with brilliant comedic timing and writing. Martin Payne is a stud playing two characters in this episode and knocked it out of the ballpark.
Tisha Campbell’s performance as Gina Waters is funny in this episode, especially in the scenes with Mama Payne.
On Thanksgiving, the women challenge the men to a cooking competition, with disastrous results.
Martin, Cole, and Tommy did a horrendous job cooking for Thanksgiving, but the scenes were epic. Cole is a character who knows how to play the dumb one in this series.
Friends – The One With The Football (Season 3, Ep 9)
It is arguably the best Thanksgiving episode of the several Thanksgiving episodes on the Friends show.
Playing a three-on-three football game has inspired people to do the same with their family and friends.
After watching a football game, the six friends decide to play one before they eat dinner. However, they soon start to realize why Ross and Monica haven’t played football since the Gellar Cup years ago, and they’re both determined to win for their own team.
You can watch this on Max or Amazon Prime.
The Fresh Prince of Air Air – There’s A Rub Season 6 (Parts 1 and 2)
Everyone who participated in both Parts One and Two did a great job. There are no dull scenes whatsoever. It is one of the most authentic Thanksgiving episodes you’ll ever watch in a sitcom.
It’s Thanksgiving time. Hilary’s television show is filming at a homeless shelter; Hilary and Carlton go to the shelter to volunteer. Philip hurts his back; Will suggests they go to a massage parlor to help his pain.
Philip and Will get arrested at the massage parlor because the girls try to give more than a massage. Hilary and Carlton continue to volunteer at the homeless shelter and realize how fortunate they are.
