Karl Anthony Towns led the New York Knicks with a team-high 40 points and 12 rebounds to victory over the Indiana Pacers 128-116.
It’s Towns’ 40th career double-double. Josh Hart added 30 points and 10 rebounds, including shooting 12 of 16 from the field.
The Knicks improved to 35-18. Jalen Brunson had an off night with 8 points, but he got help from his teammates. Therefore, one stormy night is not a big deal since he has carried the Knicks many times.
Towns were terrific against the Pacers. He did a nice fake behind the back into an outlet bounce pass, and his baseline dunk was one of the game’s best highlights.
Towns were flexing all game long. The Pacers had no resistance in the rim and didn’t have Myles Turner in action.
If the Knicks had been healthy and Towns in the playoffs last year, the Pacers would’ve not beaten the Knicks. The Pacers won in seven games in the semifinals.
Hart is arguably the third-best player on this team. He was aggressive and wanted the ball repeatedly.
The Knicks did a great job rebounding the ball and had good production from the bench. Deuce McBride was a plus-25 for the Knicks, and Cameron Payne contributed nine assists.
The Knicks will return home to face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
