The Arizona State Sun Devils got back on track after a heartbreaking loss last Saturday. The Sun Devils beat Texas State, 34-15.
Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson work so well on the field. The offense dominated in the second and third quarters.
An offense that wasn’t so great on Saturday, but it was just enough for the Sun Devils to win the game. Leavitt threw for 188 yards with two touchdowns. Tyson caught 105 yards on six receptions with a touchdown.
The running game is the biggest bread and butter for the Sun Devils. The team finished the night rushing for 245 yards. Raleek Brown stepped up against Texas State. He ran for 144 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown. His longest play was for 75 yards.
Although the Sun Devils weren’t impressive on third-down conversion, going just 5 for 13, they did convert 2 for three on fourth down efficiently.
Despite the victory, the committee has removed the Sun Devils from the rankings. The Sun Devils are 2-1. Teams that are ranked ahead of the Sun Devils are BYU, Southern Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Texas Christian.
It’s a sign of motivation for the Sun Devils to continue to win games. The team adds more fuel to the fire when it doesn’t deserve the respect.
The Sun Devils will travel to Baylor on Saturday, September 20. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
