Netflix released the first photo for the new ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’ live-action series. The series’ production will film in Atlanta.
Atlanta has become a hotbed for the film and television industry. It’s no longer just New York and Los Angeles. Atlanta is taking over. In addition, projects can be made anywhere with high-speed technology and the internet. We have too many resources, which is great for filmmakers and creators.
“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” according to the show’s official synopsis.
Joe Ruby and Ken Spears created the original Scooby-Doo in the late 1960s. Scooby-Doo inspired and entertained many generations. It’s an accomplishment that we are still talking about the franchise to this day. It’s even more impressive that projects about Scooby-Doo are still being made.
CBS had the original franchise from 1969 76. Afterward, it was ABC’s turn to get a piece of the action. The show went on until 1986. Nothing tops the original. Many Gen X and millennial kids want the reruns on Cartoon Network, which were popular and on the air. Thanks to YouTube and Amazon, people can still watch the original Scooby-Doo series.
The Scooby-Doo cast of characters is Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Freddy. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will serve as showrunners, writers, and executive producers for the new series.
Due to the nostalgia, we can see Scooby-Doo fans tuning in to Netflix. We are in the reboot-and-remake era. So this is not a surprise. Netflix must do right by the customer and deliver a great project. When it’s a classic and iconic show like Scooby Doo, anything less than great will be a disappointment. Let’s hope this new project knocks it out of the ballpark. We need some great content.
