Film Director Jason Reitman will try to do its justice to bring the movie to life. It has been announced that Reitman’s new SNL movie, a hopeful tribute to the show’s legacy, will make their way to the theaters on October 11. The SNL movie will be based on 1975, where it all began. October 11 is the same date as the show’s first episode. The movie still needs a title.
Sony Pictures Releasing distributes the untitled SNL project, which will be produced by Jason Blumenfeld, Peter Rice, Reitman, and Gil Kenan. This is the same crew that worked Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which was far from being impressive. It wasn’t a good movie. The sketch comedy show will launch its 50th season this fall. NBC never left their side. Can you believe that it’s going to be fifty years? That’s an accomplishment.
The cast is a powerhouse of talent. Here are the names of the cast and the characters they will be portraying. Starring Gabriel LaBelle as Lorne Michaels, Dylan O’Brien as Dan Aykroyd, Cory Michael Smith as Chevy Chase, and the list goes on and on. With such a stellar cast, the movie promises to be a memorable one.
The show is not as funny and entertaining as it once was. It has gone woke and too political. The 80s, 90s, and early 2000s were some of the best years of SNL. We have to give Lorne Michaels credit for the amount of talent he took a chance on and the household names that came out of that show. Since it’s a biopic, some things will not be 100% factual. We hope the script doesn’t fail us. It starts with an immaculate script, and the acting has to be great.
Reitman is the son of the late filmmaker Ivan Reitman. He is a four-time Academy Award nominee. His other successful films are Up in the Air, Thank You for Smoking, and Juno.
