Daddy Yankee is making headlines, not because he wants to be involved. It’s an uncomfortable position for him.
The former reggaeton star has reportedly filed a motion against his estranged wife, Mireddys Gonzalez, claiming she withdrew $80 million “without authorization” from his El Cartel Records bank account.
Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, filed the injunction on Thursday, Dec. 12, in San Juan against González, 47, her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos and El Cartel Records, which Yankee founded and where González is allegedly CEO and González Castellanos is secretary/treasurer.
On Dec. 2, Daddy Yankee confirmed on his Instagram Stories that he and his wife were done with their relationship after getting married in March 1995. Both of them have two kids.
Daddy Yankee retired from the music industry about a year ago and is dedicating his life to his faith. He’s very active and dedicated to this new journey.
Daddy Yankee popularized the reggaeton genre in 2004 with unforgettable hits like “Gasolina” and “Lo Que Pasó, Pasó.”
