American golfer Patrick Fishburn is seeking to win his first career PGA Tour win this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

Fishburn got off to a great start in Round Three on Saturday. He missed two key putts near the end of the game that could’ve put him in a great position to tie with J.J. Spaun.

Fishburn spoke with the Golf Channel after the game about his performance.

“I got off to a great start,” Fishburn said. “I chipped in on two or so, but the back line was completely different. It was brutal, especially if you had a lot; I felt like I had many down-grain downwind putts that you couldn’t get aggressive.”

Fishburn wishes he could’ve been a little more aggressive and made the two putts at the end, but he’s confident he will do better on Sunday.

“I’m excited for the opportunity,” Fishburn said. “Just a great opportunity to achieve lifelong goals, and I’m excited to see how I’ll handle it.”

Not too many golf players will sound as positive after a rough round finish as Fishburn did. Many don’t even want to do an interview.

Regardless of the round’s outcome, Fishburn conducted the interview with grace, class, and decency. He knows he still can win in Round Four on Sunday. A positive mindset goes a long way.

Fishburn scores for each round so far are the following:

Round One: 65

Round Two: 65

Round Three: 68

Spaun is the current leader in the scoreboard with 65. Germany golfer Stephen Jaeger finished with 62. Behind him is Eric Cole, who finished with 67. Jaeger, Cole, and Fishburn will battle it out against Spaun.

Keegan Bradley is having a solid weekend with his performance. He’s currently sitting at number six behind Brian Harmon. Bradley scored 64 in Round Three.

Fishburn has had 6 Top-15 finishes in the last 11 PGA Tour starts.
