The New York Rangers shut out the New York Islanders 4-0 on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin made 21 saves. Four different Rangers scored a goal. Will Cuylle opened up the score for the Rangers in the first period. It’s his 17th goal of the season.
In the same period, Will Borden gave the Rangers their second goal of the game. It’s his fourth goal of the season.
J.T. Miller and Artemi Panenin put the finishing touches on the third period when they scored goals. Miller recorded his 16th goal of the year, and Panerin has 25 for the year. Killer extended his point streak to six games.
The Rangers have won four of their last five games, improving 31-26. The team is still fighting for the wild card spot, currently sitting in ninth behind the Detroit Red Wings.
