Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda became one of the team’s heroes when he delivered a three-run home run. The Rays stay hot as they win their sixth game in a row after defeating the Minnesota Twins, 7-2 on Monday.
It was a scoreless game until Aranda put the Rays on the board at the bottom of the sixth inning when he hit the ball to the right field for a home run. Aranda raised his batting average to a team-leading .302.
Twins’ shortstop Carlos Correa made the game right when he crushed a two-run home run to left field to cut the deficit to one run in the seventh inning. It was his fourth home run of the season.
But the Rays stopped the Twins momentum. Shortstop Jose Caballero hit a two-out-two run double at the bottom of the inning to expand the lead to 5-2.
Catcher Danny Jansen follows up with a 2-run home run to break the game open 7-2. Jansen went 2-for-4 in this game.
